Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of music from the past. I love the feeling you get when you hear a song and can immediately remember something about a moment when you heard it before. There are lots of songs that cause me to reminisce. Songs by James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, and other mellow singers almost always make me think of my husband, Carlos. Those songs that speak of love and feeling warm are some of the best moments in my day. I will admit I’m not the most adventurous when it comes to new music, however hard my husband tries to get me to listen to new songs. I’ll listen, and maybe even replay on my own on itunes or my ipod once or twice, but then it’s usually back to my old list of songs. Yeah, I know I’m stuck in my 70s/80s zone of pop songs and the like, but there are lots of memories tied up with that music. Memories of fun times, love and happiness. What’s wrong with wanting to re-live those feelings? Nothing in my book.
